Background

Dr Claudia Bernat was born in Rio De Janeiro where she studied medicine. She then worked in research in the Weizmann Institute studying Multiple Sclerosis. She went on to do her training in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy in Israel where she graduated and worked as a Senior Consultant. She then moved to the UK where she worked in the NHS whilst building her private practice. Dr Bernat consults from Ellesmere Clinic in High Barnet, a specialist mental health and therapy out patient unit, and from the CMC medical clinic in Elstree.

Dr Bernat speaks fluent Portuguese, Hebrew, Spanish and English.

Special interests

Dr Bernats' special interests are in the areas of Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Women's Mental Health and Trauma. She can see families and individuals who are going through a crisis and are in need of psychological support.
Dr. Bernat has also trained as an EMDR therapist.
She has supervised clinical and non clinical staff both at The Cavell BMI Hospital and at The Holly Private Hospital in Essex.
